Explorer

Your explorer is the leader of the expedition in Age of Empires 3. He acts as a scout, and he can build trading posts and town centers. He collects treasures by killing their guardians with either his sharpshooting ability or by normal attacks.

With your explorer, you can forge alliances with the native american tribes such as the Seminole, Comanche, Tupi, Aztecs,Mayans and Apache, just to name a few. With later upgrades from the Home City, your Explorer can gain a dog companion with the exception of The Spanish explorer, who starts off with a war dog, and can train up to five. With an upgrade from the home city, he the dogs get stronger. Also the explorer cannot be killed. When his health drops to zero, he is knocked down, and will remain lying on the ground until a ransom is paid from the Town Center, or the player sends in units to rescue him.
