Implications

Corel PhotoPaint is a photo editing application that emulates Adobe's PhotoShop. It is very powerful, like all high-end photo editors, and can do fantastic things in the right hands.

Advantages

Corel PhotoPaint never ships as one program, it ships instead as a suite, full of image manipulation programs. Some of the utilities included can find the contours of pictures, simplify them, create high-quality screen captures, and even create psuedo-3D rendered textures of infinite customizability. It is very analogous to PhotoShop, so you can translate most guides the Corel if you know your jargon.

Disadvantages

Corel, at times, can be unstable, and may crash once in a while. Also, it is has a rarer occurrence in the modding comunity than PhotoShop or Paint Shop Pro, so you may find it hard to find specifically relevant tutorials and guides. And of course, it isn't free.
